This Privacy Policy explains how SunTea 新作の茶 (“SunTea”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operating in Calgary, Alberta, collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information. We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
By using this website (sunteaab.ca) or submitting information to us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Job applications. If you apply for a role, we collect the information you provide — such as your name, contact details, work eligibility / status in Canada, availability, experience, preferred location, and any audio or video interview recordings you voluntarily choose to submit.
- Online orders. Orders placed through our website are processed by our third-party ordering provider (Toast). Payment card details are entered on that provider’s platform and are not collected or stored by this website.
- Enquiries. If you contact us, we collect the information you share with us.
- Technical data. Basic information such as device/browser type and pages viewed, used to keep the site secure and to improve it. We store a small preference (your chosen language) on your device.
2. How we use your information
- To review and respond to job applications, and to contact candidates.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website.
- To respond to your questions or requests.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Consent
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent. For interview recordings, we ask for your express consent before you submit them, and we record the date of that consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions) by contacting us using the details below; we will then stop using the information and, where appropriate, delete it.
4. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Service providers who help us operate — for example website hosting, our ordering platform (Toast), and communication tools (email/SMS) — who are permitted to use it only to provide services to us and are expected to protect it.
- Legal authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
5. Third-party services
Our website links to and integrates third-party services, including online ordering (Toast), maps (Google Maps), and social media (Instagram). These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use minimal cookies and local storage — for example to remember your language preference and to keep the site secure. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Job-application information is retained for the hiring process and a reasonable period afterward, then deleted or anonymized. Interview recordings are deleted after a hiring decision is made, unless you are hired.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access or correct your personal information, or withdraw your consent. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
